Video gamers who love Animal Crossing on Nintendo Switch, listen up. Ripley’s Aquarium of Myrtle Beach is the first stop on Nintendo's Animal Crossing™ Aquarium Tour. For over eight weeks, June 14 – Aug. 11, 2024, Ripley’s Aquarium has taken on an Animal Crossing: New Horizons theme where guests and fans of the game can delight in discovering special activities like interactive exhibits, character visits, decorations and souvenirs from the beloved video game.

“Myrtle Beach is thrilled to welcome the creative world of Nintendo to our world-class aquarium this summer so families can experience a whimsical journey where the virtual gaming landscape comes to life,” said Karen Riordan, President & CEO at Visit Myrtle Beach. “Nintendo’s Animal Crossing has a loyal fan base of all ages, making Myrtle Beach the perfect location for this exciting collaboration.”

Families flock to the Myrtle Beach area to explore the region’s 60 miles of stunning Atlantic coastline and bountiful recreational and entertainment opportunities. As one of South Carolina’s top attractions with more than 10,000 sea creatures and animals, Ripley’s Aquarium provides an immersive educational experience where conservation of the coastal ecosystem is emphasized.

“We’re honored to be selected as the kickoff aquarium for this exhilarating Animal Crossing tour where our guests can indulge in their love for the game’s island while learning about the wonders of the underwater world. It’s a perfect blend of education and entertainment for visitors of all ages,” said Pablo Chavez, General Manager of Ripley’s Attractions of Myrtle Beach

After launching in Myrtle Beach, the tour will arrive at aquariums in New Orleans; Atlanta; Newport, Ore.; Boston; Tempe, Ariz.; and Chattanooga, Tenn.
